Many Swedes are forced to save money. This can also be seen on the recipe site Arla.se, where the number of searches for cheap recipes has increased with 400 percent since September 2022, compared to the same period last year.
– The drastic increase in searches for cheap recipes on our website is a clear indication that the Swedes’ eating habits have changed. Given the situation, we at Arla, now more than ever, want to inspire consumers on how to cook good food that is both nutritious and cheap, and not to throw away food that still can be eaten Tony Fredriksson, Content Manager Arla.se, says.
Arla’s recipe pages were launched in 1997 and contain over 6,000 recipes and articles. The recipe pages have close to 200,000 daily visitors.
Also, the number of Swedes looking for tips on lunch-box-food has increased by 700 percent, compared to the same period in 2021/2022.
–The fact that the interest in lunch boxes has increased so much is probably a combination of wanting to keep costs down for restaurant visits and that many people are working in the office again after years of working from home, Victoria Olsson, Sustainability Manager Arla Sweden, says.
