The 39 drivers, who work at Arla’s distribution centre in Linköping, have been notified of dismissal. The decision does not affect the production at the dairy.
Arla’s distribution centre in Linköping is to be shut down on May 1 and all 39 drivers in Linköping have been notified of dismissal, according to the Östgota correspondent / SVT Nyheter Öst.
– We are closing our distribution centre in Linköping and moving the operation with the trucks and trailers to Jönköping, Max Wallenberg, Press Manager Arla Sweden, says to SVT Nyheter Öst.
The reason for the closing in Linköping is according to the press manger, that the dairy in Jönköping is a better starting point for the distribution.
– There are better parking spaces, fewer trucks and more efficient routes, Max Wallenberg says.
He adds that Arla will do everything they can for the drivers depending om whether they want to continue working within Arla or move on to new jobs.
The dairy in Linköping is not affected by the closing of the distribution centre, Arla states.
