Skånemejerier’s sustainability report point in the right direction

Skånemejerier has published its sustainability report for the business year 2022. Despite many challenges, the dairy has become an even more sustainable dairy, according to a press release.

A mapping of Skånemejerier’s climate footprint 2020–2022 shows a reduction in the total climate footprint by 4 percent, where the biggest change is due to a lower climate footprint per liter of milk delivered to Skånemejerier.

Emissions from the production and from company trucks decreased by 36 percent compared to 2020. The biggest change is due to a decrease in the use of fossil fuels in favor of renewable energy at the company’s facilities. The proportion of renewable energy during the year amounted to 98 percent.

– It is gratifying that our climate footprint is going in the right direction. We look forward, taking further steps to reduce our climate impact from our operations and value chain, through a good collaboration with our milk suppliers, Camilla Ohlsson, sustainability manager at Skånemejerier, says.
