Arla Sweden strengthens leadership team with two key appointments

Arla Sweden has appointed two senior executives to its leadership team, recruiting a new Sales Director from Carlsberg Sweden and a new Communications Director from MAX Burgers.

As of 15 June, Claes Enander has taken up the role of Sales Director for Arla Sweden, with responsibility for the retail grocery business. He also joins Arla’s Swedish management team.

A press release states that Enander brings extensive commercial leadership experience to the role. Over the past five years, he has served as Sales Director at Carlsberg Sweden, overseeing grocery retail, convenience stores and export markets. He has a strong track record of leading and developing large sales organisations with a focus on growth, profitability and customer relationships.

“It feels fantastic to be in place, and I look forward to building on the strong work that is already being done. Arla has a clear purpose, strong brands and committed employees. Together with my colleagues, I want to continue developing the sales organisation and creating long-term value for our customers and owners,” said Claes Enander.

Enander also has a background in the dairy sector, having held senior positions at both Skånemejerier and Valio Sweden. He succeeds Jens Olsson, who has moved on to become Head of Arla’s US business.

Arla has also appointed Henric Byström as its new Communications Director for Sweden. He will take up the position later this autumn and will become a member of both Arla Sweden’s management team and the company’s global communications leadership group.

According to a press release Byström brings more than 20 years of experience in communications, brand development, marketing and public affairs. Throughout his career, he has helped build some of the Nordic region’s strongest consumer brands and has led communications initiatives that have delivered both business results and stakeholder trust. He joins Arla from MAX Burgers, where he most recently served as Head of Communications.

“It feels incredibly exciting and rewarding to become part of Arla – a farmer-owned company and a brand with a strong connection to people’s everyday lives. I look forward to working with colleagues to continue building trust in Arla and highlighting the important role that good, nutritious food plays in people’s wellbeing,” said Henric Byström. He succeeds Caroline Starck, who has left the company.
