Falköpings Mejeri holds hearing regarding expansion

Falköpings Mejeri invites the public to a hearing as part of the company’s application process for an environmental permit to increase its production capacity.

Falköpings Mejeri, which produces dairy products such as milk, cream, cultured milk, cheese, and milk powder, plans to increase production in Falköping from 180,000 tonnes per year to 400,000 tonnes per year.

The plan is to demolish an existing building and replace it with a new factory building dedicated to increased milk powder production. The new facility will also house a new spray-drying tower to replace the old one. Therefore, the dairy requires a permit for environmentally impactful operations under the Environmental Act.

For this reason, the dairy is holding a public hearing so that neighbours, authorities, and the public can provide input on what should be investigated and described in the environmental impact assessment, as well as ask questions about the proposed activities. Written comments on the consultation material must be submitted no later than August 15to Falköping Dairy.
