Falköpings Mejeri reports a stable annual performance

According to Falköpings Mejeri’s latest annual report, business remains stable, and CEO Anders Segerström senses optimism among farmers, customers, and consumers.

Revenue reached SEK 2.26 billion, down SEK 117 million from the previous year, while the net result stayed stable at SEK 27 million.

Milk intake rose by 13 million kilograms, totaling 291 million kilograms, collected from 178 members during the financial year.

Over the past six months, the settlement price for milk increased by SEK 0.80, bringing optimism to the industry, says CEO Anders Segerström in an interview with ATL. Despite the challenges, he highlights that optimism persists, driven by new business initiatives, increased support from retailers and policymakers, and a notable shift in consumer focus away from prioritizing the lowest price.

During the financial year, cheese production rose by 19 percent, while powder production declined by 9 percent, partly due to a 21 percent drop in powder prices. Fresh milk (k-milk) production in Falköping increased by 9 percent compared to the previous year, and the demand for extended shelf-life milk (ESL milk) continue to grow.
