The quark brand Lindahls declares the second Friday in January as Quark Day—to celebrate and highlight the popular protein source.
The second Friday in January, also known as ”Quitters’ Day,” is the day when many people give up on their healthy New Year’s resolutions. Lindahls has now declared the same day as Quark Day—to honor and draw attention to the popular protein source at a time when motivation is at its lowest.
After last year’s quark boom, which had the protein-rich food on many people’s lips, Lindahls belives the product deserves to have its own day. In 2024, Lindahls saw a significant increase in sales and even introduced all-white packaging as a temporary solution to a nationwide quark shortage. For Skånemejerier, the owner of Lindahls, this led to a decision to invest millions in expanding production, ensuring that their quark—always made from Swedish milk—remains available.
- 2024 was truly a landmark year in the history of quark. And its popularity only seems to keep growing. We have now invested 70 million SEK in our quark production to continue driving innovation within this product segment. We want to keep introducing exciting new products that make it easier for Swedish consumers to maintain a healthy lifestyle,” says Johan Stenmarck.
The celebration will take place with Lindahls consumers on January 9, 2026. Keep an eye on Lindahls’ channels for more information as the date approaches.
