Kavli donates the surplus from every product sold to support charitable causes. This year, Swedish employees chose to distribute SEK 1 million among the organizations Aja Baja Cancer, Clownronden, and Drivkraft.
Since 1962, Kavli’s food brands have contributed over one billion kronor to organizations and initiatives that make a positive impact in the four countries where the Kavli Group operates—Norway, Sweden, Finland, and the United Kingdom—as well as supporting projects around the world.
Each year, through the Kavli Fund, Kavli Sweden provides donations to worthy causes in Sweden. Employees play a role in determining where part of the surplus is allocated through an employee-driven initiative.
This year, a team of Kavli employees reviewed 30 suggestions from colleagues and chose to support three organizations. The organization that received the most votes was Aja Baja Cancer, which works to improve the everyday lives of families with children undergoing cancer treatment. The organization was awarded SEK 505,000.
The remaining funds were split between Drivkraft, a nonprofit that offers tutoring and mentoring to students and their parents in Malmö, and Clownronden, which provides hospital clowns to entertain children in hospitals across Skåne. Each of these organizations received SEK 247,500.
