Approved Climate Targets is a milestone for Skånemejerier

Skånemejerier’s parent company, the Lactalis Group, has had its climate targets officially validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). These targets include Skånemejerier.

The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) is an organization that helps companies set science-based goals to support the achievement of the Paris Agreement. The Lactalis Group’s approved climate targets are aligned with the Paris Agreement’s objective of limiting global warming to 1.5°C.

– The approval of Lactalis Group’s climate targets is a significant milestone. These ambitious targets reflect the group’s dedication to leading the path towards net-zero emissions by 2050. We are eager to collaborate with our customers and suppliers to collectively contribute to emissions reductions across the entire value chain, says Cecilia von Perglas, CEO of Skånemejerier.

– Science-based climate targets provide clear direction for us as a subsidiary of the Lactalis Group. Through our commitment to achieving fossil-free production, we have reduced the climate impact of our facilities. We have also launched our farm sustainability program, Hållbar mjölkgård(Sustainable Dairy Farm), where climate is a key focus, says Camilla Ohlsson, Sustainability Manager at Skånemejerier.
