Skånemejerier’s farmers want to reduce regulatory burden

The Skånemejerier Economic Association is working to review the administrative burden for its members by simplifying regulation

The magazine Husdjur features an interview on its website with Anders Rolfsson, the chairman of Skånemejerier Economic Association. Like other dairy associations, 2023 brought significant economic fluctuations for Skånemejerier, but according to Anders Rolfsson, optimism has returned in 2024.

– There is a sense of optimism and a willingness to invest. We see that many people are quite positive about the future, even with these major fluctuations, says Anders Rolfsson.

One of the initiatives highlighted in the article is the association’s work to simplify regulations and administration for farmers.

A major concern is precisely the administrative burden on members. In the agricultural sector, efforts are underway to simplify the handling of regulations and controls to reduce the pressure on farms. The Skånemejerier Economic Association has therefore started an initiative to address this issue internally. A working group will develop proposals for simplifications during the year.

– We will review what we have and what we can change. Is there something we can remove entirely? We want society to take responsibility, but we also have a responsibility as an association,” Anders Rolfsson tells Husdjur.
