Skånemejerier has chosen to certify its self-owned haulage company in Fair Transport, the haulage industry’s sustainability certification for road freight transports.
The certification is part of Skånemejerier’s efforts and vision to become Sweden’s most sustainable dairy.
– Through certification in Fair Transport, we can highlight our systematic sustainability work with our transports. The certification gives us proof that we are working in the right way towards reduced environmental impact, increased traffic safety, and social responsibility, which is important to us, says Peter Liljedahl, Transport Manager at Skånemejerier in a press release.
Fair Transport is the transport industry’s sustainability certification for road freight transports and is an important part of the industry’s efforts changing to completely fossil-free freight transports. The certification has clear, traceable requirements that are checked at several levels and by a third party.
– Skånemejerier’s sustainability work with the entire transport chain is a role model in the industry, and we are pleased that they have chosen to certify themselves in Fair Transport, says Maria Werpers Dahl, Executive Director at Fair Transport. She adds:
– In 2023, 100% of Skånemejerier’s domestic transports in their haulage company were fossil-free, and they already achieve the highest value-added level in Fair Transport. The value-added levels contribute to the companies’ continued development and impose higher requirements on reduction, environmental classes of vehicles, and breathalyzer locks.
