AAK:s tredje kvartal rekordbra

AAK:s delårsrapport för det tredje kvartalet 2018 visar ett rekordhögt rörelseresultat. Rörelseresultatet, inklusive en positiv valutaomräkningseffekt på 16 mkr, uppgick till 526 mkr (475 mkr), en förbättring med 11%.

De senaste årens positiva trend fortsatte under tredje kvartalet. Mejeri och Special Nutrition var de segment som främst bidrog till resultattillväxten.

Food Ingredients redovisade ännu ett starkt kvartal, särskilt inom mejerisegmentet och Special Nutrition.

Johan Westman new CEO for AAK

The Board of Directors of AAK AB has appointed Johan Westman as President and CEO of AAK AB. He is currently Senior Vice President Europe and Managing Director of the BlankLight division at Shiloh Industries. Shiloh Industries, Inc., with headquarters in Valley City, Ohio, USA.

Johan has close to 20 years of industrial experience in management consulting and from the automotive supplier industry. He was President and CEO of FinnvedenBulten AB between 2009 and 2014 and President of the Finnveden Metal Structures AB division 2008–2014. Prior to these positions he spent eight years in management consulting with Arthur D. Little.

Johan Westman, born in 1973, holds a Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering from Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg, Sweden.

AAK opens innovation center in the US

Specialty fats and oil supplier AAK opened the doors to its AAKTION Lab, an innovation center located on-site at the company’s U.S. headquarters and designed to facilitate close collaboration with customers. The state-of-the-art facility features dedicated bakery and chocolate/confectionery labs as well as space for meeting with customers and conducting sensory evaluation.

It’s the first of three customer-centric innovation centers that Malmö, Sweden–based AAK plans to open in the U.S. market this year. A center focused on bakery product applications is under construction in Louisville, Ky., and another dedicated to bakery and dairy applications is slated for completion in Richmond, Calif., late in the third quarter.
