Frontrunner-company ceases sales of dairy products

– After thirteen years, we are closing the company to focus completely on our own farms, says chairman of Sju Gårdar Henrik Johansson in a press release.

Sju Gårdar (Seven farms) started as an organic cooperative with the participation of seven organic dairy farms in Uppland in 2009. The market for organic and locally produced was strong and Sju Gårdar was quickly established as a strong local supplier in Uppsala and the surrounding area. In addition to being KRAV-affiliated, all the farms were also climate certified in 2010. At that time Sju Gårdar were the first and only in Sweden thar could offer climate-certified dairy products and were appointed by the World Wide Fund for Nature, WWF as winners in the fund’s guide 2021.

– We are proud of our achievements, but everything has its time. We are all thirteen years older; we have put in a lot of work but feel that the commitment is no longer enough to run a business like Sju Gårdar. All in all, this has led to our decision to wind up, Henrik Johansson, says.

In the future the farmers in Sju Gårdar become members of Falköping’s dairy.
