Swedish member won’t run for re-election to Arla’s board

At the next Supervisory Board meeting in Arla, the Board will be elected for the period 2022-2024. But the Swedish member Jonas Carlgren has announced that he won’t stand for re-election.

Jonas Carlgren has been a member of Arla’s board since 2011 and has been involved in many different industry associations over the years, for example as chairman of the board of Svensk Mjölk since 2019. After careful consideration, Jonas Carlgren has decided that his time on Arla’s board will end with this term.

– I am proud and grateful to have been part of the board during such an important time when Arla went from being a Swedish-Danish cooperative to becoming a world-class European cooperative with a fantastic reputation in most of the world. I wish both my successor and the rest of the board all the happiness during the exciting and challenging years to come where sustainability and food production will be more important than ever, Jonas Carlgren says in a press release.

Arla’s Chairman of the Board Jan Toft Nørgaard calls it a loss for the board but wishes Jonas Carlgren all the best in the future.

The Swedish Nomination Committee has begun the process of finding a new candidate.
