Spain’s antitrust enforcer said Tuesday that the commission has fined Danone S.A., Nestle Spain and a number of other other dairy companies a total of about €88.2 million for trading sensitive business information about raw milk supplies.
The country’s National Commission of Markets and Competition, or CNMC, said that a study submitted by an agency that aims to protect competition — el Servicio para la Defensa de la Competencia de Castilla y Leon — indicated there was possible restrictive conduct in the raw milk supply market in Spain, prompting the investigation along with a complaint submitted by a union for small farmers against the companies.
