The Guild of Fine Food has announced that the competition will be held in Norway for the first time in 2018, in partnership with HANEN, an organisation promoting the best that the Norwegian countryside has to offer. Forming part of a brand new food festival, The Food Country Norway, the 31st annual World Cheese Awards will take place in Bergen on Friday 2 November.

The Guild of Fine Food har utnevnt Bergen til arrangørby for oste-VM 2018. Gardsmatorganisasjonen Hanen har med seg Norsk Gardsost som medarrangør. Det hele skjer fra1. til 4. november 2018, skriver horecanytt.
Arrangørene venter at mer enn 3500 oster fra mer enn 30 land vil bli påmeldt. I tilknytning til oste-VM, blir det også arrangert en ny matfestival som har fått navnet «Matlandet Norge».
In 2016, the Guild of Fine Food are taking the World Cheese Awards to San Sebastián – the European Capital of Culture 2016 – in the Basque region of Spain, where it will form a key part of the International Cheese Festival, organised by Artzai Gazta and supported by the Basque Country Government.
World Cheese Awards judging will be a major event at the festival, with all cheese being judged on the opening day, 16 November, and talks and tours to explore the World Cheese Awards entries taking place on 17 and 18 November.
